It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Juanita Brooks (Sylva, North Carolina), born in Jackson, North Carolina, who passed away on September 25, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Nelson Wykle; her sister Thelma Hodgins; and her son-in-law Ronnie Buchanan. She is survived by: her husband Bruce; her daughter Kathy Buchanan; her stepsons, Charles Brooks, Bobby Brooks and Lewis Bradley, Jr. (Patricia); her sisters, Mildred Cabe (Keith) and Hester Wykle; and her grandsons, Scott Buchanan (Laura), Dustin Buchanan (Trish), Jason Buchanan (Elizabeth) and Travis Buchanan. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
