She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Buchanan and Vella Buchanan; her siblings, Anne Bell, Betty Johnson and R. C. Buchanan; her son Roger; and her husband Kenneth Hooper.

She is survived by: her children, Ken Jr. and Shawn; her son-in-law Jim Petrini; and her granddaughter Heather Hooper.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Old Field Cemetery Fund, PO Box 55, Sylva, NC 28779.
