He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Jones and Nina Parris Jones; and his siblings, Ray Jones of Easley, SC, Allen Jones of Sylva and Portia Marie Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda; his son Mike Jones (Mary); his grandchild Kaila; his daughter Betsy Gillespie (Tim); and his grandsons, Ben Gillespie (Morgan), Matt Gillespie (Abby) and John Gillespie. He is also survived by several nieces and a nephew.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (669 W Main St, Sylva, NC 28779). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Parris Cemetery. The military honors will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
