With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melodi Layne Roddenberry Standingdeer (Sylva, North Carolina), born in Vero Beach, Florida, who passed away on October 19, 2022 at the age of 63. She was predeceased by: her parents, David Roddenberry and Ruth Roddenberry. She is survived by: her close friend Ben Fuller; her children, Shannon Chickie Trejo (T. Trejo), Tara Nikki Knight (Willis Knight), Shawn Standingdeer (Satara) of Cherokee, NC. and Loski Standingdeer (Emily) of Cherokee, NC.; and her siblings, Dedra Jacobs, Cynthia Roddenberry (Courtney) and David Roddenberry Jr. (Julie) of Vass, NC.. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
