He was predeceased by: his parents, Edd Buchanan and Clearsie McMahan Buchanan; his wife Audrey Sutton Buchanan; and his siblings, Aldon, Donald, Hilda Sutton, Catherine Green, Louise Cabe, Frankie Cowan and Pauline Henderson.
He is survived by: his son Michael (Debra) of Raleigh; and his siblings, JoAnn Garner (Allen) and Kenneth (Minnie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
