She was predeceased by: her father Bruce Vern; her husband Rev. Raymond E. Knowles Jr.; and her sister Eleanor Stoess. She is survived by: her children, Kitty Knowles of Sylva, Robert Knowles (Aaron Thomas) of Atlanta and Jeanne Mathews (Scott) of Sylva; her grandchildren, Kayla Bryson, Emily Bryson, Kevin Bryson (Cassie), Crystal Mathews and Ricky Mathews; her great grandchildren, Emmy Lou and Torvi; her brother-in-law Charlie Stoess; and her pet Bella.
