It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Stella Owens Parris of Sylva, North Carolina, born in Durant, Oklahoma, who passed away on April 19, 2022, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, O. L. Owens and Omie Owens; her spouse Charlie S. Parris; her grandson Scott Jamison; and her son-in-law John Grant.
She is survived by: her children, Rita Sue Grant, Ruth Ann Conard (Johnny) of Candler, Bobby Parris (Patsy) of Sylva and Bill Parris (Pat) of Brevard; her grandchildren, Jeff Jamison (Valarie) of Sylva, Mark Parris (Marianne) of Ardmore, TN, Beverly Gaddis (Jody) of Sylva, Susan Messina (Doug) of Tampa, FL, Steven Parris (Allison) of Fletcher, Amy Weaver (Ben) of Fletcher and Laura Markle (Travis) of Marietta, GA; and her stepgranddaughters, Teena Keefer (James) and Selina Rector (Herman).
