He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Guillermo Mateo of Hayesville and Dianne Benefield; his children, Izaiah Matthew Benefield and Brayden James Johnson of Sylva; his siblings, Janice Benefield of Hayesville, Christina Benefield of Hayesville, Raeanna Mateo of Hayesville, Emilio Mateo of Sylva and Joshua Mateo of Hayesville; and his nieces and nephews, Tatiana Benefield, Phoenix Shoopmen and Tristen McDowell. He was also cherished by several aunts, uncles and cousins, many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to help defray expenses in William's memory.
