He was predeceased by : his parents, Barcie Benton and Alma Gertrude Benton (Long); and his brother Norman Benton. He is survived by : his daughters, Kandy Ashley (Bud) of Leland, NC and Terri Scott (Marty) of Fuquay Varina, NC; his brother Elwood Benton of Nakina, NC; his nephews, Randy Reaves and Larry Fowler; and his niece Gloria Fowler. He is also survived by five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
