She was predeceased by: her parents, John Furney Spivey and Kitsey Belle Spivey (Jacobs); her former husband John Gary McMillan; her husband William "Bill" Bruton; and her grandson Mark McMillan.
She is survived by: her son John Gary "Jimmy" McMillan, Jr. of Lake Waccamaw; and her grandchildren, Rev. Gary McMillan, III (Faye) of Garland, Roger Dale McMillan (Wendy) of Clarendon, Tammy DeMattio (Dean) and Myrtle Beach. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren; and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.
