She was predeceased by: her parents, Donnie Vereen and Magaline Rabon Vereen; and her siblings, Kelly Vereen, Mary Ann Hardee and Frances Thompkins.
She is survived by: her children, Ammie Fowler (Tracy) of Tabor City, NC, Kellie Tompkins (Mickey) of Tabor City, NC and Fredrick "Freddie" Mayo (Barbara) of Tabor City, NC; and her brother Leonard Gillard of Conway, SC. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
