She was predeceased by: her mother Katie Simpkins; her husband Clyde Braddy; her daughters, Sylvia Whitfield and Sheila Taylor; and her siblings, Stonewall Simpkins and Allie Vick.
She is survived by: her grandsons, Doug Whitfield and Michael Hathaway; her close friend Janice Burnette; and her stepchildren, Mary Grace Daughtridge, Whitley, Kevin Whitley and Sylvia Stancil.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Carlisle Funeral Home (701 Hospital Dr, Tarboro, NC 27886). A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Edgecombe Memorial Park (2879 US-258, Tarboro, NC 27886).
