He was predeceased by: his father Herman Lee Owens; his stepfather Willie Mullins; and his brother Kenneth Owens. He is survived by: his mother Peggy Owens; his children, Thomas Owens and Tiffany Owens; his grandchildren, Jonathan Hatchel Jr., Caleb Hatchel, Jayden Hatchel, Keyonna Jenkins and Keymari Jenkins; and his siblings, Lee Owens (Gladys) and Brenda Owens Tucker (Finis). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
