It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Harper (Tarboro, North Carolina), who passed away on October 10, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Janet Harper to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her father Bill Winstead; her grandparents, Ben and Patty Webb Winstead; William "Bill" of Wilson and Ruby Tedder Winstead of Wilson.
She is survived by: her husband Frank (Leggett); her daughter Lisa Marie Harper Menius (Luke); her granddaughters, Harper and Stella Menius of Wilmington, NC; her son Shea Spencer Harper (Deborah); her grandson Gavin of Paia, Hawaii.; her sisters, Susan Winstead Murray (Lewis) of Lakeland, Barbara Winstead Derlega (Val) of Norfolk, VA and Gail Parrish of Wilson; her close friend Debra Nixon; and her family, Francis Buck (family: Levi Moore, Lillian Stroud, Lawrence, Faye Gulley), David, Jonetta Anderson and Debbie Kirkland. She is also survived by in-laws and cousins, including special cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Battleboro United Methodist Church (229 E Battleboro Ave, Battleboro, NC 27809).
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Battleboro United Methodist Church, William Primitive Baptist Church, St Jude's or Shriners.
