He is survived by: his wife Debra Forrest Carson; his daughter Judy Carson Caton (Phil); his grandsons, Phillip Ray Caton Jr. (Amber) and Brian Carson Caton (Kimberly); his great grandchildren, Carson Caton, Landon Caton, Caleb Caton and Harper Caton; his siblings, Linda Deanes, Jimmie Carson (Lou), Becky Carson and Ann Peaden; his niece Gray Jackson; and his nephew Brad Peaden.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Bethel City Cemetery (799-711 NC-11 Business, Bethel, NC 27812).
