He was predeceased by: his parents, Junius Koonce and Susan Koonce. He is survived by: his wife Janis Koonce of Rocky Mount, NC; his brother Edward Koonce of Raleigh, NC; his children, Chris Koonce (Jennifer) of Pilot Point, TX, Caroline Langston (Cody) of Clinton and Sarah Koonce of Waukesha, WI; and his grandchildren, Ava Koonce, Hunter Koonce and Trevor Langston.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations be made to Edgecombe County Memorial Library, 909 N Main St., Tarboro, NC 27886.
