With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Phillip Allen Speight (Tarboro, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 3, 2025 at the age of 89. In the sacred silence of farewell, Phillip is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Phillip's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Speight and Mamie Speight; his wife Sylvia Speight; his son Tony Ray Speight; his granddaughter Terry Geanine Purington; and his brother William "Bill" Terry Speight.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sylvia Kay Speight and Wanda Rose Purington; his granddaughter Teisha O'Connell (Michael); his daughter-in-law Barbara Speight; his nephew William "Bud" Speight; and also Charlie. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Carlisle Funeral Home (701 Hospital Dr, Tarboro, NC 27886). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Carlisle Funeral Home (701 Hospital Dr, Tarboro, NC 27886).
