It is with sadness that the passing of Rachel Whitehead of Tarboro, North Carolina is shared. Rachel, born on January 1, 1937, passed away on October 9, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Rachel will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Rachel by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Rachel is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Rachel’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fletcher Phillips and Mary Whitehead. She is survived by: her daughters, Patricia Cobb of Tarboro, Lorene McNair of Tarboro, Minnie Bullock of Tarboro and Rosa Whitehead of Tarboro. She is also survived by six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hemby Willoughby Chapel (1800 Western Blvd, Tarboro, NC 27886). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
