He was predeceased by: his parents, Obel Duvall and Irene Duvall Garris; and his siblings, L. W. "Jack" Duvall, Clarence Duvall and Mary Duvall Breland.
He is survived by: his siblings, Paul Duvall and Betty Duvall Collier; his daughters, Clara Crotts (Jenny) and Karen; his grandchildren, Hannah Thompson (Jon), Sierrah Hough, Joshuah Crotts, James and Nicolas; and his great grandchildren, Emmaleigh and Grayson Thompson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Alexander Funeral Service (193 NC-16, Taylorsville, NC 28681). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, August 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery (962 Old US Hwy 70, Black Mountain, NC 28711).
