He was predeceased by: his parents, Smith Howard Bentley and Elsie Childers Bentley; and his sisters, Marie Sprinkle and Ruth McLain. He is survived by: his wife Mary Miller Bentley; his sons, Todd Bentley (Crystal) of Alexander County, Mark Bentley (Tina) of Troutman and Jeff Bentley (Sandra) of Alexander County; his grandchildren, Samantha Bobbitt (Ackzle), Matt Hager (Bethany), Zachary Hagar, Brittny Turner (Casey), Johnathon Bentley, Dixie Sigmon (Brandon), Ashlyn Gordon (Matt), Amy Bentley, Josh Bentley (Alexa) and David Bentley; his siblings, Irene Lewis (Willard) of Hickory and Ray Bentley of Alexander County; and his brothers-in-law, Conley Mecimore and Ralph Miller.
