Melissa Byrd Obituary

She was predeceased by: her parents, Bobby Daniels and Colleen Richards Daniels; and her sister Donna Jolly. She is survived by: her husband Dennis Byrd; her children, Sarah Watson (James) of Taylorsville, Lauren Minton (Bradley) of Taylorsville, Haley Dyson (Clyde) of Taylorsville and David Byrd (Mary) of Taylorsville; her grandchildren, Nathaniel, Tavia Denny, John-Luke, Jeremiah Watson, Elin, Allie Minton, Ellie and Ehud Dyson; her sister Debbie Teague of Taylorsville; her close friend Barbara Teague; her cousins, Dale and Kathy Hull; and her siblings-in-law, Freddy Norris, Mike Jolly, Joann Walker (Charles) and Georgia Breedlove. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 12th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Adams Funeral Home (307 Main Ave Dr, Taylorsville, NC 28681). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Oxford Memorial Baptist Church (2889 Old Nc 90 Rd, Taylorsville, NC 28681).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Sugar Loaf Elementary Benevolence Fund (for Unpaid Lunch or Snack Charges for children dear to her heart), 3600 NC Hwy 16 N, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
