He is survived by: his wife Shelby James Mitchell; his children, Scott Mitchell (Monica) of Taylorsville and Dana Harris (Jason) of Hiddenite; his grandchildren, Landon Mitchell, Grant Mitchell, Lanna Holt (Gerald) and Lexi Warren (Joshua); his sister Shelia Lackey (Jerry); Taylor Miller.
