He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Patterson; his parents, Otto Burris and Mary McCurdy Patterson; and his siblings, James Patterson, Mary Jo Patterson, Elata Webster, Ray Patterson and Danny Patterson.
He is survived by: his children, Bequi Cordero of Athens, Tracy Lynne Patterson of Statesville, Tricia Ann Patterson Lucas (Don) of Statesville, Pamela Sue Patterson of Statesville and Douglas Lee Patterson (Mary) of Yorktown; his grandchildren, Meg Meadows (Hugo), Nicole Patterson (David), Melissa Patterson (Laura), Stephanie Patterson, Shane Lucas (Jay), Emily Lucas (Jenn), Brett Lucas (Vanessa) and Mia Patterson; his great grandchildren, Delaney Rose Flores and Maxwell Thomas Pijor; and his close friend Shelby Malcolm. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and loving friends.
