He was predeceased by: his parents, Jackson Oren Smith and Helen Campbell Smith. He is survived by: his wife Martha Marlow Smith; his children, Rebecca Bouchard (Tommy) of Hiddenite, Jacqueline Foy (Peter) of Catawba and Andrew Smith (Kara) of Hiddenite; his grandchildren, Matthew Bouchard (Brittney), Jacob Bouchard (Maribel), Carly Foy (Christian), Claire Harrison (Ryan), Garren Smith (Lauren) and Paislee Smith; his great grandchildren, Piper and William Bouchard; his sister Helen Keever (Phillip); his niece Rhonda Waters (Roger); his nephews, Phil Keever (Tracy) and Joe Keever; his great-niece Whitley Carrigan (Mark); his great-nephew Aaron Keever; Denise Kilgo.
