We announce the death of McRay Cottle of Teachey, North Carolina, who passed away on September 5, 2026, at the age of 78. McRay will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Virginia Brown Cottle; his children, Rob Cottle of Rose Hill, Alix Cottle (Tim Peterson) of Clinton, NC and Blake Cottle (Jennifer) of Teachey; his grandchildren, Mason Cottle (Raegan), Hayden Cottle Cooper (Logan), Jacob Byrd (Alex), Lauren Byrd and Kayla Cottle; his great grandchildren, Mary Caitlin Byrd, Kolton Zurcher, Summit Zurcher and Laynie Zurcher; and his sister Janice Cottle Williams of Teachey.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Teachey Baptist Church (199 W Page St, Teachey, NC 28464). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
