With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bessie Virginia Walker of Thomasville, North Carolina, who passed away on May 1, 2026 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Pauline Fuller Phillips Walker and Dr. Nathaniel Walker; and her siblings, Charles Walker of Thomasville, Pauline Cox of Thomasville and Elizabeth Wilson of Winston-Salem.
She is survived by: her daughter Virginia Bess (Andrew) of Sarasota, FL; her grandsons, Will Bess (Danielle) and Kevin Bess; her great grandchild Ellie Bess; and her siblings, Josephine Walker Swaim of Thomasville and Nathaniel Walker (Carolyn) of Thomasville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org or to Fair Grove Church in Thomasville.
