With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Rose Thrift of Thomasville, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 23, 2024 at the age of 94. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Betty Rose Thrift to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Walter Taylor Portis and Myrtle Wallbridge Portis; her husband Edward Lee Thrift; her son Eddie Charles Thrift; and her grandsons, Brock Duran Thrift and Justin Wayne Thrift.

She is survived by : her children, Gary Wayne Thrift (Linda Carol) of Asheboro, James Rodney Thrift (Joann) of Thomasville and Susan Renee Thrift Mabe of Trinity; her siblings, Walter Taylor Portis, Jr. of Clemmons and Ann Portis Berrier of Cornelius; her grandchildren, Gary Wayne Thrift, II (Caprice), Shannon Renee Thrift Heiney (Mike), Megan Carol Thrift, Lindsay Rose Thrift, Rodney Scott Thrift (Morgan), Tia Machelle Hyde (Byron), Eddie "Chuck" Charles Thrift, Jr. (Sally), David Hunter Thrift (Maddie), Ashley Renee Lambeth (Josh) and Cortney Lea Julien (Marc); and her sister-in-law Louise Portis. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Central Wesleyan Church (300 Hinkle St, Thomasville, NC 27360). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
