He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeter Edward Johnson and Elizabeth Davis Johnson; his former wife Ann Johnson; his daughter Shawanda Duffield; and his son-in-law Barry Duffield.
He is survived by: his children, Scott Johnson of Lexington, Krystal Johnson (Jerry Easter) and Katrinka Johnson (Janet Gartrell); his grandchildren, Adam Johnson (Ashley), Brandi Duffield (Brian Dupre), Jeremiah Johnson (Dana Worley) and Cody Duffield (Katie); and his great grandchildren, Zachary VanDyke, Madison Johnson, David Duffield, Morgan Johnson, Mollie Duffield, McKenley Johnson and Easton Johnson.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the J. C. Green & Sons Funeral Home (122 W Main St, Thomasville, NC 27360). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Joint Funeral Service. A burial was held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 at the Guilford Memorial Park (6000 W Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27407).
