He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Heist and Grace Ziegler Heist; his wife Lois Heist; and his brother Raymond Heist. He is survived by: his children, Kerry Hanne (George) of Huntersville, N. C., Lisa Lewis (Doug) of Mount Holly, NC and David Heist (Chuck Clifton) of Durham, NC; his grandchildren, Stefanie Hanne (Elissa Norton) of Durham, NC, Chelsea Poser (Ryan) of Huntersville, NC, Brad Hanne (Maureen) of Charlotte, NC, Jake Lewis of Beaver, PA and Sydni Lewis of Mount Holly, NC; and his great grandchild Noelle Hanne.
A funeral service was held on Monday, July 7th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Emerywood Baptist Church (1300 Country Club Dr, High Point, NC 27262). Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM and on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Woodlawn American Baptist Church (2107 McMinn St, Aliquippa, PA 15001).
