She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence "Nick" Velmer McMahan and Ila Taylor; her siblings, MaeBelle, Wilma, R. B., Reverend Billy Joe, Robert, Leroy and Clyde; and her close friend Sugar.
She is survived by: her son David Owenby; her grandsons, Dakota Owenby and Brian Owenby; her great grandchild Alex Owenby; her siblings, Daisy Grant and Reverend Samuel McMahan (Rose); and her great-nieces, Cheryl Whitaker, Susan Grainger and Jennifer Garner. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cumby Family Funeral Service - Archdale (206 Trindale Rd, Archdale, NC 27263).
