She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Barnes and Noba Barnes; her husband Jim Hankins; and her siblings, Pomella Barnes, Geraldine Powell and Glenn Barnes.
She is survived by: her caregiver Barbara "Ann" Reece; her great-nephews, Tyler Bishop of Thomasville, NC and Jacob Bishop of Thomasville, NC; her siblings, Jim Barnes, Joe Barnes of Sylva, NC and Linda Jiles of Waynesville, NC; and her friend Mike Pickett. She is also survived by nieces and nephews; and her former neighbor.
