She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Saye Kinney and Tempie Clyde Foster Kinney; her siblings, Herman Kinney, Mildred K. Brinkley, Donnie K. Swaney and Loretta K. Ogden; her niece Linda Brinkley; and her nephews, Richard Brinkley and Steve Swaney.
She is survived by: her children, Neal Byerly (Sharon) of Lexington, NC and Sheila Byerly Sumner of Denton, NC; her grandchildren, Taylor Everhart (Jonathan), Alexis Sumner (Alex Burkhart) and Thomas Kozik (Morgan); her great grandchildren, Elyse Kozik and Lenox Kozik; her niece Teresa Lowe; her nephew Doug Brinkley; and her close friend Dwain Staley.
