He was predeceased by : his parents, Lloyd Ring and Hattie Marie Embler Ring; and his son Darrell Ray Cox. He is survived by : his children, Jerry "JJ" Lee Ring, Jr. of Thomasville, Larry "Scooter" Cox (Alisa) of Thomasville and Tammy Renee Cox of Thomasville; the mother of his children Betty Ring; his sister Judith Ann Whitehead (Stewart) of Newport News, VA; his grandchildren, Amber Cox, Marrisa Cox, Nathan Kirk, Levi Cox and Sawyer Ring; his great grandchildren, Isaiah Hill and Elijah Hill; his nieces, Stephanie and Laura; and his pet Jax.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude's, Davidson County Animal Shelter, a veteran's organization of the donor's choice or a simple act of kindness in memory of Jerry.
