He was predeceased by: his father James Kenneth Pritchett, Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Janice Myers Pritchett; his daughter Maggie B. Poole (David) of Thomasville; his brothers, James Kenneth "Jimmy" Pritchett, Jr., Jerry Thomas Pritchett and Craig Lambeth (Christy); and his grandchildren, Allison Marie Poole and Bryson Lee Poole. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In Johns memory, the family request no flowers and that friends make memorials to Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, cancer research, or Hospice of Davidson County.
