He was predeceased by: his parents, Dock McPhatter and Rosie Simpson McPhatter; his wife Carolyn Sue McPhatter; and his siblings, Victoria McPhatter (Vic), Mary Moody, Evelyn Richardson, Sarah Leonard, Pat Fox, Theda Allen and Laval McPhatter.
He is survived by: his children, Angela McPhatter, Edwina McPhatter Hardee (Jerry) and Lee McPhatter, Jr. (Christa); his grandchildren, Matt "Arnold" Holland (Angie), Taylor McPhatter (Alex), Alli Hurley (Josh) and Wil "Wilster" McPhatter III; his great grandchildren, Faith Holland, Poppy Bailey and Lila Raine Hurley; his sons, Rev. Henry King, Rev. Jack Hurley and Rev. Jimmy Garrett; and his friend Barbara Bumgardner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County.
