She was predeceased by: her parents, John William Modlin and Nona Marie Nichols Modlin; and her sister Merlynn Shaw. She is survived by: her children, Susan Annette Lester (Thomas McDaniel "Danny") of Thomasville, Walter Eldon Burgiss, Jr. (Sherry) of Archdale and Eric Christopher Burgiss of Thomasville; and her grandchildren, Shamus Cooper, Madison Burgiss and Colton Burgiss.
