We announce the death of Rickey Edward Payne of Thomasville, North Carolina, who passed away on October 2, 2026, at the age of 73. Rickey will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jewel Payne and Roberta Faye Hale Stewart; and his brothers-in-law, Billy Todd and Craig Gallimore. He is survived by: his son Neil Payne (Elizabeth) of Bakersville; his wife Jane Payne; his siblings, Simon Payne (Pat), Sue Todd and Kay Taylor; and his grandsons, Evan Payne and Landon Payne.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the J. C. Green and Sons Funeral Home (122 W Main St, Thomasville, NC 27360). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery (401 W Holly Hill Rd, Thomasville, NC 27360).
