He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyd Gilmer "Jack" Swaney and Donnie Rae Kinney Swaney; and his daughter Mindi Shawn Swaney. He is survived by: his son Monty Steven Swaney of New York; his aunt Hilda Byerly of Thomasville; and his caregiver Marcia Rich Gallimore of Thomasville.
