He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Clyde Helton and Helen Perry Helton of Harlan, KY.; and his siblings, Carlos, Raymond, Jerry and Delbert Helton.
He is survived by: his wife Denitha "Dee" Myers Helton; his daughters, Barbara "Barbie" Poole (Thomas) of Archdale, Amanda "Mandi" Helton of Kernersville and Carrie Roguske (Matthew) of Waterford, MI; his sisters, Elva Henley, Freda Shackelford (David) and Barbara Helton; and his grandchildren, Heather Poole, Lydia Poole, Brandon Roguske, Taylor Roguske and Ashton Jarvis.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the J. C. Green and Sons Funeral Home (122 W Main St, Thomasville, NC 27360). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 10:00 AM and at 12:30 PM.
