She is survived by: her son Maurice McKellar, Jr. of Durham; her grandson Maurice McKellar, III of Clayton; and her cousins, Janice, Jennifer Rascoe (Theodore) of Durham, Nola Williams (Clyde) of Semora, Miranda Lawson of Durham and Betty Lowe.
