He is survived by: his children, Tenica Pettiford of Durham, Kory Pettiford (Elizabeth) of Durham and James Gentry, Jr. (India) of Roxboro; his grandchildren, Amier Toomer, Arrion Harrington, Kamryn Pettiford, Kourtney Pettiford, Kingston Pettiford, Luke, Jahmeel Gentry, Jaylen Gentry (Chesley) and Imani Gentry Newsome (Justus); his siblings, Beverly Paylor of Roxboro, Luke Torian (Clarice) of Dumfries, Virginia, Tina Chavis (Reco) of Durham, Daniel Torian (Fran) of Weddington, Reverend John Torian of Kernersville, Joe Torian of Dumfries and Victoria Silver (Ricky) of Durham; and his goddaughter Renee McDougald (Chris). He is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
