He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Short and Mary Alice Green Short; and his brothers, Sandy Short, Jerry Short, Randy Short and Alberto Short.
He is survived by: his daughter Carmetris Bond (Kenneth) of Durham; his grandfather Boosie Boo; his brother Wayne Short of Timberlake; his close friends, Darryl Street of Person County and Raymond Perry (Ruth) of Roxboro; and his sister-in-law Sherry Bailey-Short of Roxboro. He is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Cunningham and Nelson Funeral Home (87 Brookland Church Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Cunningham & Associates Funeral Services (87 Brookland Church Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573).
