He was predeceased by: his parents, Coy L. Ellis and Lucille Roberts Ellis; his wife Laurie Dean; and his siblings, Euell, Wallace, Ralph, Grady, Phillip, Marshal Ellis, Blanche Marks and Ruth Chambers.
He is survived by: his son Millard "Ray" Ellis Jr. (Tammy); and his brothers, Winston and Harold Ellis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, 600 College St., Oxford, NC 27565.
