It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Velma Mae Watson Marks of Timberlake, North Carolina, born in Durham, North Carolina, who passed away on September 21, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Clarence Watson and Bessie Moore Watson; her husband Paul Griffin "Bubba" Marks; her sister Pansy Emmons; her great grandchild Kyle Cooley; and her granddaughter-in-law Cindy Marks.

She is survived by : her sons, C. G. Marks (Marian) of Bahama and Randy Marks (Effie) of Rougemont; her grandchildren, David Marks (Susan) of Timberlake, Brian Marks of Oxford and Dawn Ray (Thomas) of Timberlake; her great grandchildren, Summer Marks, Aubrey Ray, Paul Marks and Brandi Cooley; and her great great grandchild Madi Carroll.
