It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bobby Gene Wood of Traphill, North Carolina, who passed away on July 19, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Franklin Wood and Pheba Durham Wood. He is survived by: his wife Faye Anthony Wood; his children, Manleff Royal of Yadkinville, Sammy Wood of Jonesville, Robert Wood (Ali) of Traphill, Matoska Richardson (Paige) of Glade Valley, Jane Johnson (Jerry) of Millers Creek and Sharon Barber (Jeff) of Mt. Airy; and his brother David Wood (Kathy) of Traphill. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Elkin Funeral Service (560 North Carolina 268 W, Elkin, NC 28621). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Knobbs Baptist Church (8505 Austin Little Mountain Rd, Elkin, NC 28621). A burial will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at the Knobbs Baptist Church Cemetery (8505 Austin Little Mountain Rd, Elkin, NC 28621).
Flowers are welcome, or memorial donations may be made in Bobby's name to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
