He was predeceased by : his parents, John Wesley and Rosa Ina Edwards Joines; his wife Mary Ann Joines; his son Thomas Egbert Joines; and his brothers, Wesley Joines, Alvin Clay Joines and Paul Joines.

He is survived by : his daughter Christie Dee Joines McKinney of Traphill; his grandchildren, Kodi Thomas McKinney, Kayla DeeIna McKinney, Haley Brooke Joines Matthews (Danny "Ethan"), Thomas "Wesley" Joines and Thomas "Matthew" Joines; his great grandchild Sarah Ann McKinney; and his brother Bert Joines of Winston-Salem.
