She was predeceased by: her parents, Elisha Strayhorn and Gladie Strayhorn. She is survived by: her husband Ray C. Malone; and her children, Madison C. Hargett Jr. (Santina) of Trenton, NC, Shawna Hargett (Jevon Perry) of Charlotte, NC and Damien Malone (Joy) of Durham, NC. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
