He was predeceased by: his parents, Millard Monroe and Margaret Monroe; and his siblings, Clementine Hill, Harold Dean Monroe, Kenneth Monroe and Evelyn Clark.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Kearns Monroe of Trinity, NC; his daughter Amanda Monroe Taylor (Rodney); his grandchildren, Shelby Taylor (Austin LaBar) and Andrew Taylor; his siblings, Vera Stanley, Leon Monroe, Edwin Monroe (Pat), Wayne Monroe (Brenda) and Fairlee Webb; and his brother-in-law Charles Clark.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont or Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting.
