She was predeceased by : her parents, Robie Elsie Gallimore and Alice Myrtle Hoover Gallimore; her husband Gilbert Briles; and her siblings, Margaret Briles and Burnis Gallimore.

She is survived by : her daughter Phyllis Caviness (Gary W.) of Asheboro; her siblings-in-law, Ruth Ann Gallimore of Trinity and Wendell Briles (India); her granddaughter Natalie Caviness; and her pet Chloe.
