He was predeceased by: his parents, Alphonso Edgar Townsend and Christine Stone Townsend; and his siblings, Gilbert Townsend, Mary Townsend Taylor and Branford Townsend.
He is survived by: his wife Imogene Townsend; his brother Jerry Townsend; his children, Shelley Renee Townsend and Larry Tyronne Townsend (Priscilla); his grandsons, Landon and Keenan Brock; and his great grandchildren, Kenzie and Sophie.
